Dog Lease Contracts [for Training & Breeding]
Started By
This is an idea carried over from another dog sim I used to play. Basically have you ever had to send a dog to someone to train it and then worry about them not giving it back, breeding it, selling it, disappearing from Ala? Yeah? Then this is for you!

Purposes of Contracts:
-Safely lease a dog to another player without worry of ability to get the dog back.
-Limit what they are able to do with leased dog.
-Allow safe sending of dogs for training.
-Allow safe sending of bitches for breeding.
-Allow leasing of dogs for trailing purposes.
-Items "frozen" on dog [unable to be added/removed]

Time Limit on contract
-Owner can set amount of days/weeks the dog is going to be leased out. After time runs out owner may reclaim overdue contract.
-Player dog is leased to may send dog back after no longer needed [ie after breeding/training/trailing is done]

Other Features:
-Contract notes can serve as an agreement between players, ie agreement to max dog. Once contract is accepted this is agreed to. May serve as evidence of agreement between players [easier for mods to deal with scamers or broken agreement with clear evidence]
-Contract payment attached TO contract. Contract creator can choose to pay [ie for training] or be paid [ie for breeding].
-Report Contract, kinda self explanatory. Just a link that allows contract to reported to mods in the issue hub in case of scamming or such [ie player accepting contract for training but not training dog]
-Leased dog would be noted on dog's page [This dog is on a Contract]
-Leased dog would exist in the kennel of the one who accepted the dog.

Now then, I mentioned that this does exist on another game. It works very well to prevent people from stealing dogs, and promote leasing of bitches for breeding. I also have some screen shots of how it works on that game for perhaps better explaining than I can do. I do not expect Ala to ever copy this game [trust me Ala is 10x better!] just the way that it visually looks may be helpful for understanding :)

As you can see there are options for allowing breeding or not, changing the cost, canceling the contract, and an expiration date of the contract upon acceptance.

Thank you for answering ^.^<br /> <br /> If they do create a dog contract, then there should definitely be the items too!<br /> <br /> Thanks Ev!

<i>Here's an example. Roo and I have our own Zoi line. We send dogs back and forth to breed and train. we will retire them no matter who started with that dog. Would she and I have to make a contract too? That would be too much because we would break the contract nearly everytime! I think that it should be an OPTIONAL contract.</i><br /> <br /> The contract idea is not in replacement to the give function, just a different method. You could still use the current method of just giving dogs to each other. This is more for people you don't know, and public services.<br /> <br /> And sure I don't see a reason why items couldn't be worked into the leasing system if it was already set up.

I support :)<br /> <br /> I just have one question, would you HAVE to make one EVERY time you want to let someone borrow your dog? I know that I loan out my dogs to my friends who will train/breed/compete, etc. But i know i will get them back. There is no need to make a contract.<br /> <br /> Here's an example. A lot of people rent and loan out items more than dogs ^.^

<i>The only thing I would be iffy about is the no adding items...when I lease females for breeding, I usually add a wolf, bunny or skunk, to keep the health up in case I'm away when the pups are born, and under contract I wouldn't be able to do that. :3 But support for the rest!</i><br /> <br /> The item "freezing" would be optional by the contract creator. This is in case you had put something like a heat cookie/chance/leopard/collar/ect... on the dog when you sent it. This is too keep you safe. If you're not throwing something like that on the dog, then no need to enable the option :) <br /> <br /> I thought it would be best to make the contracts as flexible and user friendly as possible. Also so that they do not overly favour one party over the other, and serve more as a "keep every one safe" deal.

It sounds like they're working on the breeding feature, but I'd love to have it for training/trialing. Especially trialing, it would be awesome to rent a good trialer for a day or two. The only thing I would be iffy about is the no adding items...when I lease females for breeding, I usually add a wolf, bunny or skunk, to keep the health up in case I'm away when the pups are born, and under contract I wouldn't be able to do that. :3 But support for the rest!

Support :) I really like this idea :D

I support as long as we can keep up with it and there's no hassle for coders. They are doing a lot as of recent.

Definitely support :3

<i>I support so long as there is a way to code this, with our current codebase. Which means it'd be up to the coders in the end.</i><br /> LOL of course it's always up to the coders to do. I feel like they would be able to do it :)

Support times a million. Would make things so much easier, both from player and mod perspectives.
